Genius hour #6

1.How can I better understand Shakespeare's readings?
2. Do most of his stories end in a tragedy?

After reading all the information on how Shakespeare's language works, I am truly becoming confident on how I'll obtain the knowledge amongst the "static" language. I never knew that Shakespeare's language would be so complicated just because our language now is more "modernized", but to be honest it is just dumbed down now. Shakespeare's language demonstrates complex ideas and structures mixed with humor if you understand the reading. What I love about the reading is that it mentions that Shakespeare tends to use a variety of puns which is awesome, because I consider myself the pun master, literally— I can come up with a pun for almost everything. It was weird reading that if you speak or study an Latin language this text will become difficult to read due  to the fact that it would seem both languages are pretty opposite, it's the first time I see that being bilingual would be a problem. Although it will be a challenge to understand his readings I'm up for it and at the end of the day it will only make me better, fill me with more knowledge, and better comprehension. While reading the texts will his message from the reading related to each story?

PART 2:
1. What is a tragic hero?
2. Does this necessarily mean the hero will die?


A tragic hero is an individual who must confront a downfall or a fear, it is the person that must become the hero by facing what mainly brings him down even though it shows his flaws drastically.  A tragic hero does not necessarily have to die because a tragedy is not always defined as a death, it could be the simple manner of a flaw that could be tragic of the character.  After conducting research on this topic it leads more towards the real definition of tragedy. I originally thought that a tragedy meant a million deaths including deaths of people that are close to you, however that is not always the case. A tragedy can be something that an individual believes that brings them down like their character. For example, a person could have everything they want such as all the materialistic things but what is tragic about that is that you have no love, no sentimental value over other real situations in life but items you scan in a store.

1. What does an argumentative essay consist of?

               An Argumentative essay is a style which will forever exist due to the fact that it states a personal claim and viewing the side of the opposing claim, while still managing to get it your way. An Argumentative essay strictly consists of an intro, the development of your argument, state the opposing argument and refuting it, and a conclusion. The essay consists of at least five paragraphs. The best tone for these kinds of essays is a fair-minded tone to be able to understand what the opposing claim is and evaluate the situation right. Basically, don't mess up on this essays because they are critical a lot of common mistakes that have been seen is revealing bad judgment.

Genius Hour #5

What I have learned this unit is to be able to create good essays in such short time as well as the formats. I have learned how to officially use an outline and I normally don't use them, but now I consider them pretty helpful. The outline definitely taught me how to limit time during timed essays because of my highlighted purposes. Overall it has taught me how to make a personal statement essay for my admissions to college. I enjoyed this unit because we were able to do the work with what relates to us. Basically I like writing about a topic I can personally relate to.

Genius Hour #4

Bell work Answer:
These standardized test affect me both academically and personally by making me feel like I've learned nothing. All these years invested in school thrown in the trash by doing poorly on a test that so call measures what you have learned throughout the entire time of your years of schooling. It  honestly makes me sad because I feel like I wasted time, and this tests stresses me out so much.


I personally hate this test, no matter how many people tell me it's "good" for me, I will always hate it because it makes me question life, LITERALLY! I was not able to finish the practice test, I over think these questions way too much, that has also been one of my biggest problems. I feel like a lot of these questions involve common sense because the ones that I will never know, I legit just go by what makes sense and it's correct. At least I know that I have to focus on managing my time a lot, especially since we're taking the SAT with an essay, it's my first time taking it with an essay, so we'll see how that goes. What I like about this test is that some of the questions are fun facts and I get to learn something new, plus I can use them on other people and make them feel a little dumb. However, since this test irritates me so much, I'm going to over come it, ill retake it as many times as I can to earn a good solid score and be happy.

There are multiple ways of getting financial aid, first you must start by filling out the FAFSA and finding any financial forms required, after that  is established begin with looking up any scholarships there is literally scholarships for anything! However, if you don't qualify for scholarships there are also student loans, different options of course for what suits you best, I believe one of the best could be the work-study. The requirements for a scholarship could be merit based scholarships,, this relies on your GPA and the scores you get on the SAT or ACT. You can get extra financial aid set aside of what your paying for your full tuition, basically like extra money for yourself to buy a lap top or anything like that. I have the earn to learn scholarship which permits me too have extra money since I can get the Barack Obama scholarship, I will end up having $6,000 to myself.

1. What is the point of a blog?
2. Why do people make them?
3. How long are they?




I've always found blogging to be quite awkward, I never really knew what their whole purpose was about until of course I did some research. I found out that blogging apparently helps you with your writing and how your ideas are pursued on your topic. Not only does it help with your writing but also freedom of expression in your ideas and beliefs, it can also be very therapeutic. I've always wondered how long a blog had to be because in movies I've seen them write for a very long time as if it were an essay or more than that, but it has to be less than 600 words or else people will completely stop reading and get bored. I guess I can see I'm pretty excited to try out this whole blog thing since it's new to me, it'll probably help me be more calm with less stress because I can talk write about whatever I want, and believe me that is the best feeling ever to not worry about answering a designated essay question.
